A 130 year old pine tree was taken down outside the studio one day. A piece of the tree was left on the stump. I couldn't leave it there. When I looked at it I saw a bowl or a small table. I took away the bark and began to form it and chop away wood for the oak legs. Since it's a fresh piece of wood and the oak legs aren't it continued to shrink around the legs and pressing it together. Because of that I didn't have to use any glue for this piece. The oak is orange dyed and the pine is treated with the shou sugi ban technique.
